How to renew a Colombian passport in Los Angeles

Who can apply?

Any Colombian citizen may apply for or renew their passport at the consulate that covers their jurisdiction. The Consulate of Colombia in Los Angeles has historically served residents of Southern California, Arizona and New Mexico. Confirm your jurisdiction before booking.

Colombian passport requirements

Valid Colombian ID (yellow cédula de ciudadanía with holograms). For minors, the civil birth registration or the identity card.

In-person attendance of the holder for the biometric photo and signature. Minors must attend with their parents or representative.

Step by step

Confirm your identity and jurisdiction. Make sure your cédula is valid and that Los Angeles is your consulate.

The passport requires in-person biometric capture (photo, fingerprints and signature), so it generally can't be done by mail. Confirm any exceptions on the official portal.
